Gold Outperforms Stocks in 2011

Being that it is now 2012, it is a great time to look back and see what happened in the financial markets in the past year. If you didn't diversify to start the year, and stayed mostly with stocks, you basically ended the year exactly where you started. With financial uncertainty overseas, and the debt pressures continuing to build, stocks did not gain as much as expected. Gold, on the other hand, performed exceptionally well throughout the year, rallying for a 10 percent increase.
