Chinese Gold Panda

The Chinese Gold Panda is a series of gold bullion coins featuring China's symbolic animal introduced in 1982 and at one time was minted in seven different sizes, second only to the eight sizes of the Australian Nugget. From 1982-2000, the face values of the 1/20- through 1-oz. Gold Pandas were 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 Yuan, respectively. Today, the denominations are 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz.

With an annual design change, with the exception of the 2001 issues due to a temporary freeze on the design but it resumed in 2003. The Gold Chinese Panda has long been a favorite of coin collectors and jewelry designers the world over.
